Under the European Patent Convention, the Boards of Appeal of the European Patent Office (EPO) have final-instance jurisdiction with respect to European patents. As a lawyer in the Legal Research Service (a support unit for the Boards of Appeal) amongst others you will be drafting reports and studies for the Boards of Appeal and the Vice-President on legal questions, in particular concerning civil procedure and patent law.
