08 April 2014

Bird & Bird has launched an updated version of its Cloud Computing app, available for the first time on both iOS and Android.

The latest edition answers commonly asked legal questions on cloud computing services across 17 jurisdictions, covering six additional countries (Australia, Belgium, Finland, The Netherlands, Singapore and Switzerland), and also features navigation and User Experience (UX) improvements.

The app reviews issues of consumer protection, data protection, data portability, intellectual property, liability, security and the use of the cloud by the public sector.

Roger Bickerstaff, partner, Bird & Bird said: "Whether you are a supplier or a user of cloud services, the legal ramifications of cloud computing are complex, fast changing and different in every jurisdiction. The updated version of our Cloud Computing app makes it easy to understand the basic legal issues involved in operating Cloud services across different jurisdictions. We're also pleased that it is now available to a much wider audience."

Countries covered include Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UAE and the UK.
