Researcher in socio-legal studies on property relations in Libya at Leiden Law School

The researcher forms part of a small team which will carry out a project on ‘Solving the Real Property Conflicts in Post-Gaddafi Libya, in the Context of Transitional Justice’. The project focuses on the vast number of real property conflicts caused by laws introduced during Gaddafi’s era, notably, Law 123/1970 that provided for expropriation and redistribution of agricultural land, and Law 4/1978 that severely restricted ownership in urban housing and other real property.
