How one pioneering Italian woman transformed EU law

Wilma Viscardini became the first female lawyer in the town of Rovigo in northern Italy, in the 1950s — and one of the few in the country specialising in European law. Together with a handful of lawyers in Germany and France, Viscardini started pioneering the legal construction of Europe during the 1970s.
